Harvest is a vintner's celebration of the culmination of a year's hard work. It marks the transition period in the winemaking cycle from vineyard to cellar. In physical terms, it is the process of picking ripe grapes from the

The 4th Annual Denver International Wine Festival will be held at The University of Denver's School of Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Management (HRTM), part of the Daniels College of Business. The school offers the ideal venue for enhancing ones knowledge of wine & food. In addition to tasting wines from around the globe, attendees may participate in one of our many optional seminars and guided tastings.

In 2007, our "Grand Tasting" showcased more than 450 wines from 19 countries and featured 15 of Colorado's top chefs in our "Taste of Elegance" competition. We plan to make the 2008 DIWF even more exciting and exclusive!

For the second year in a row, the DIWF is the first "Green" wine
festival in the USA! All empty bottles are quickly from the festival
and are diverted from a Colorado landfill by the Green Glass Company of Wisconsin. The empty bottles will be transformed into beautiful glassware.

Featuring 16 Colorado top chefs, creating culinary dishes to pair with

Join Christopher & Darcy Davies, the Editors/Co-Founders of Wine Country International ® magazine and the hosts of Travel, Wine & Cuisine radio show for an intense week of Travel, Wine & Cuisine in Tuscany. If you are a culinary tourist, like Davies', you'll enjoy discovering the local cuisine & wines of every region that you visit. This week long program will not only satisfy your culinary desires, but will teach you how to document your
experiences photographically with practical digital photography techniques.

All participants are encourage to bring their digital cameras and several spare memory cards. Tripods and external flash units are also encouraged. Participants will be taught how to better document their travels and culinary experiences:

  • Lighting basics
  • When to use a tripod
  • Composition
  • Travel photography tips
  • How to photograph scenery
  • How to take better photos of people
  • Food photography basics

Several optional early morning and sunset photo sessions will be offered. Become an International recognized photographer!!
All participants will have the opportunity to enter their best photographs taken during the week into a photo contest. The editors will judge and select the best three photographs on the final day. Winning photos will be published in Wine Country International® magazine.The program's culinary highlights will include:

  • Visits to local wine producers for behind-the-scenes tours and private wine tastings
  • Lunch and dinners at some of the regions best restaurants
  • Cooking lessons with celebrated chefs.
  • Olive oil tasting
  • Visit to the sea to explore local seafood
  • Visit to artisnal cheese maker
